So much of my week is centered on Sunday, I was confused all day as to the day of the week. I missed seeing you this week and being together as a church family. Hopefully, the cancellation doesn’t mess with your awareness of and attendance to some great opportunities for growth and togetherness.
This Sunday during the 9:00 am worship service we are offering an exciting Bible study called “The Portraits of Jesus.” It is an 8-week class exploring the presentations of Christian beliefs about Jesus. This Sunday will address the question, “How is it that the Christian faith is reasonable?” Even if you cannot make all 8 weeks, I would urge you to sit in on the study when you can. Over the 8 weeks, you will be taught by Adam Hayes, Matt Anderson, Jim Hayes, and me. Coffee will be on!
Also, this Sunday night from 6 pm-7 pm we will fellowship together around prayer and singing. I cannot state strongly enough the need for us to be in prayer for what’s next as a church. Our desire is for His agenda to be done. So, set aside 60 minutes this Sunday night to be with your brothers and sisters as we seek the Lord together!
Don’t forget that the Missions’ Conference is right around the corner. “Inspire, Enlighten, Encourage, and Enlist” Missions event is February 8th-10th. The weekend will kick-off with a prayer night on February 8th. There will be a men’s breakfast and women’s brunch on that Saturday, February 9th. And Sunday we will do things a little differently than usual as there will be several workshops to choose from and a Missions’ Fair. I am looking forward to this weekend!
Do you have Friday night, April 5th marked on your calendar? That is the “What’s Next Banquet” for the entire church. There will be a kid’s program as well. It will be a fun and informative night as we unite our heart and minds around what God is building here at EBC. It is time to take some faith steps toward greater growth and impact. Let’s see what God is going to do through us as a church in this next season. We are in this together!
Church, again, I remind you of the words of the Psalmist who declared, “Let this be written for a future generation, that a people not yet createdmay praise the Lord” (Psalm 102:18). Our investments are not only for what our eyes can see, but for generations to come.
To Him be the glory,
Pastor Brian
