Another Pastoral Epistle 6/19/19

Leading people toward life’s greatest goal – knowing Jesus! That is the mission of the On-Goal ministry.  EBC has been hosting On-goal soccer camps for the last 5 years. For many of you, you are familiar with the program, but if you are like me as of 4 years ago, I never heard of it.  Let me share with you a snapshot of On Goal’s history and a little bit about the program. This information is taken from their website.

Through unique soccer programs focused on coaching excellence in a positive atmosphere, On- Goal has impacted thousands of lives and enabled churches around the world to reach their communities.
On Goal began in 1985 when Tom Fite partnered with his local church to run a soccer camp. That first camp was the start of several church/On Goal partnerships around the United States. In 1999, On Goal received 501(c)3 status and became a full-time ministry. On-Goal added the On-Goal Futsal program in 2002 and began developing the competitive club, Passion FC, in 2008.

The aim of the On-Goal soccer programs is to develop players who:
play with PASSION
play with SKILL
play TOGETHER
play with HONOR
play with PURPOSE

That is our definition of the Total Player and what we encourage our players to pursue wholeheartedly.

The ultimate message of the Total Player is that we will never be complete without Jesus in the center of our life.  God is passionate for each of us and wants us to be passionate for Him.  He wants us to experience a meaningful life filled with love and everlasting joy.  He wants us to live life passionately, using our gifts and skills to serve Him, experiencing life togetherhonoring Him with our actions, and knowing His purpose for our lives.

On-Goal soccer camp begins this coming Tuesday and as of Sunday there were 96 kids registered.  That is amazing! That means that not only will 96 kids be exposed to the love and gospel of Christ, but so will several families in our community!  We will also be hosting as a follow-up to this outreach effort a neighborhood block party in August. Be in prayer for effective inroads into our EBC community.

This facility God has given us is being used for greater impact.  That is what our “What’s Next” campaign was all about. We want you to stay in the loop of what is happening with that campaign since launching it on May 1, so an update will be coming your way.  Stay tuned!

Leaders are in the process of preparing their budgets for the coming fiscal year that begins on September 1.  I ask you to pray for God to influence this process. Praise Yahweh God for His provisions this past year through your faithful giving to the ministry of EBC.

To the great I Am be all glory, honor, and praise!
Pastor Brian
