Hi EBC Family,
What does not change after the Presidential race has been decided? God being in control. Jesus building His church. The truth of God’s Word. The activity of the Holy Spirit in our lives. The mission of EBC. People in the Lakes Region who need Jesus.
Our call to bring the light into the darkness remains the same. Is there any darker holiday than Halloween? Yet 300 people stopped at 16 trunks this past Saturday. Along with candy, tracts and other church information were given as well as a free family photo for those who stopped at the Downing’s photo booth. A big thanks to all who decorated their trunks and provided candy and to Laura Hollenbeck and Bethany Miller in organizing the event.
Reaching our community for Christ is not only about using our lips to proclaim His name, but also about using our hands to serve and give to others in the name of Christ.
The local outreach team has been very active in expressing God’s kindness in tangible ways. For example, 19 gift cards to staples were dropped at Elm Street School for teachers. Gift cards were also given to Laconia Police Department on behalf of EBC to express our appreciation for their service. These two examples are what our local outreach team calls, “blitz’s.” They are tangible expressions of kindness to people in our community done in Jesus’ name. Be on the lookout for ways you can be involved in these acts of kindness to our community.
In a few weeks, Christmas ornaments will be provided for you to give to a friend, neighbor, or family member. Also, in the works is a cooperative effort with a food bank, Love INC, and area churches to pass out food to Laconia. Stay tuned!
How else can we reach out to our community? If you have suggestions to be considered by our local outreach team, contact the church office or Cheryl Hayes.
I continue to be excited about what is happening at EBC. Community groups are going strong. EBC kids continues to minister to our kids with purpose and passion. God’s Word is reaching many through in person services and livestream. Projects are being completed through capital campaign funds. And leaders of the various ministries are staying active in looking for ways for greater impact. Please check out the ministry booths setup in the worship center and get involved! The church needs you for greater effectiveness!
Plan on attending the ministry meeting on November 19. This is an opportunity for you to hear from the leadership as to how we are moving forward in making disciples who make disciples for the glory of God!
Remembering Him who is the same yesterday, today, and forever, Pastor Brian
