The Weekly Epistle 12/28/22

Hi Church,

As we turn the page on another year, we likely experienced highs and lows and everything in
between. I can’t help but think of Solomon’s words in Ecclesiastes chapter 3 that there is a time
for everything. Solomon speaks of the totality of human experience. If we were the authors of
our existence, we might choose to eliminate half of the list (check out Ecclesiastes 3:1-8). Yet
God uses all those experiences for our good and for His glory!

Before we embrace the new year, let’s linger in the Christmas season a bit longer. The
Christmas songs may still be ringing in your ears that one note or two and you know exactly the
song. But can you identify the title of the Christmas songs if described this way?

Expectation of arrival to populated area by mythical, masculine perennial gift-giver. (Answer:
Santa Claus is coming to town).

Ok, your turn: “Move hitherward the entire assembly of those who are loyal in their belief.”

Or “Listen, the celestial messengers produce harmonious sounds.”

Or “Nocturnal timespan of unbroken quietness.”

How about this one: “Embellish the interior passageways.”

How do you think you are doing? “Twelve o’clock on a clement night witness its arrival.”

“The Christmas preceding all others.”

“Diminutive masculine master of skin-covered percussionistic cylinders.”

“Obese personification fabricated of compressed mounds of minute crystals.”

“In a distant location the existence of an improvised unity of newborn children’s slumber
furniture.”

“Proceed forth declaring upon a specific geological alpine formation.”

“Jovial yuletide desired for the second person singular or plural by us.”

Did you get them all? Answers are below at the end of the announcement section.

Hope you had a great Christmas and wish you the very best for this new year as we grow
together in Him. May the Lord continue to build up His people at Living Hope Lakeport!
To God be the glory.
