The Weekly Epistle 3/2/22

Better Together

The Lone Ranger and Tonto, Dean and Jerry, Batman and Robin, Charlie and Snoopy. What do all these names have in common? As I am sure you’ve already guessed, they’re better together. How funny is the funny man without the straight man? Not nearly as funny as he is when accompanied by his stoic friend. How many bad guys can the gunslinger take out on his own? Not nearly as many as he can with the bow of his faithful sidekick.

Church, I am excited to announce the official launch of the Together Initiative. The Together Initiative is an exciting opportunity to increase our church’s capacity to demonstrate the presence of Christ and proclaim the message of his Gospel throughout New England by joining in partnership with the Evangelical Free Church of America.

The Evangelical Free Church of America is an association of autonomous churches united around ten common theological convictions and committed to “multiplying transformational churches among all people.” The association is comprised of 180,000 attendees in 1,300 member churches nationwide. The New England District is comprised of 9,000 attendees in 61 churches. The EFCA includes notable figures such as Walter Kaiser Jr. (Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary), D. A. Carson (Trinity International University), and Chuck Swindoll (Dallas Theological Seminary).

By joining together with 189,000 attendees and 1,361 churches, we will…

Equip Our Church
The EFCA is committed to equipping our church through the development of leadership, the support of the body,  the multiplication of mission, and the preservation of doctrinal purity.

Support Our Body
The EFCA is committed to fostering the spiritual health and vibrancy of our congregation. EFCA offers the church body resources and support needed to ensure that we are a healthy expression of Christ in our community and the world.

Multiply Our Mission
The EFCA is committed to increasing the impact of the Gospel of Jesus Christ through the multiplication of churches. EFCA offers churches the resources and support to successfully plant new Bible-based Gospel-preaching churches.

Preserve Our Purity

Together Initiative Informational Resources

The Together Initiative is an exciting opportunity to increase our church’s capacity to demonstrate the presence of Christ and proclaim the message of His Gospel throughout New England by joining in partnership with the Evangelical Free Church of America. In preparation for this initiative, we are offering two informational resources, a website and an informational booth located in the worship center. Both resources will be accessible Sunday, March 6, 2022.

Sign-up for Networking Spiritual Gifts Workshop

This Sunday is the last day to sign up for the networking class to determine your spiritual gifts that is being held Saturday, March 19th and March 26th 9-12am in the fellowship hall.  If you have never determined what God has gifted you with, this is an excellent workshop to help you determine your gifts.

Looking ahead

Starting March 20th through April 10 we will be offering 4-week Discovery Class to learn more about who we are as a church Sunday mornings from 9:00-10:00 in the Fellowship Hall.

The local outreach mission team is sponsoring a movie night on March 25th from 7-9pm.  The movie is entitled “Overcomer” and is done by the creators of War Room which was shown previously at EBC.  Look for flyers in this week’s bulletin.

April 10th will be a newcomer’s luncheon following  the second service.  Further details will follow in the future.
