The Weekly Epistle 5/25/22

From time to time, I like to send you updates from missionaries we support as a church.  As we think about out four E’s for ministry, evangelism (the fourth E) includes both local and global outreach.  Here is some latest news from Michael and Nancy Dore, who are serving in West Africa.

“Well, believe it or not, time flies! We are about FOUR months away from our next Home Assignment. We plan on heading back to Michigan the end of September. We have two big prayer requests regarding the logistics of our time in the US. First, we need one vehicle (possibly two) to use during our HA and then to hopefully leave with Titus and Emma for their continued use when we return to Guinea. Secondly, we are going to need a place to live. We would prefer something in West Michigan close to our home church, with at least three bedrooms. We DO have one exciting location and are looking into more specifics. Pray with us that the Lord would help us find an affordable house and reliable vehicles.

We are trying to stay focused on our many responsibilities here and life stays quite busy!  We are always thankful for how our supporters try to keep in contact and up to date with our ministry. This past Sunday we had the honor of receiving a visit from a delegation from our home church here in Conakry.  They try to get out once a year to visit all their missionaries, but due to Covid and scheduling complications they were not able to come the last couple of years. They listened to our prayer requests, prayed and shared encouragement from the Word with us. They also gifted us with rice (50kg – 3-4 weeks of rice for a Guinean family, but about 6 weeks’ worth for us) and some money. We feel very blessed to have such wonderful support on this side of the ocean.

We thank the Lord for all of you who upholds us in prayer and through finances.  The Lord has blessed us through you.  Thank you for all your love and encouragement,
Michael & Nancy Dore (with Titus, Emma, Micah, and Isaac).

In other happenings, don’t forget about the new video series, “Kingdom Marriage,” on Sunday mornings from 9:00-10:00.  It is not too late to jump in this week to session two.

Also, our next “Prayer 30” is Wednesday, June 22 from 7:00-7:30.  Don’t forget to stop by the ministry counter for ways you can help with this year’s on goal soccer camp.  And if you know someone who could use some yard work, the local outreach team with your help, would love to meet that need as an expression of the love of Christ.

I am also excited for our church picnic and baptism on Saturday, August 27 from 11:00-4:00 At Ellacoya State Park.  A baptism class will be held on Sunday, July 31 @ 10:15.

Blessings to you, Pastor Brian

Local Outreach Opportunity

The local outreach team is sponsoring a spring cleanup day this June.  This is a way to serve your unbelieving neighbor, friend, family member.  Two ways you can help: 1. Pass on the name of someone you have contacted who could use some practical help.  2. Show the love of Christ through service by participating in the spring cleanup day in June (date to be determined).  Stop by the ministry counter for more information or to sign up.
