The Weekly Epistle 9/11/19

Here is a brief update from the GLO Team on the recent missions trip to Honduras. We will have another update from the team that went coming soon, so stay tuned!
 
 
On July 20-July 29^th Steve Forbes, Victoria and Ethan Brown partnered up with Rick and Ruth Odess from Missions Door to set out on a missions trip to Tocoa, Colon Honduras to help with a building project for Pastor Lucas Gomez. Pastor Lucas had been praying for three years for missionaries to come and God answered his prayer. We found out that we were the first missionaries to come to that church’s community. We all got a little sick because they did not know the process of properly cleaning food and dishes for our weak American stomachs, but that didn’t matter because we were just grateful to be visiting with our brothers and sisters in Christ. The money we sent down was used to purchase roofing materials for the new church building that the members of the church had built over a period of 9 months. We moved dirt for the floor while the welder put together the rafters and then we would help hoist them up into place.  In the afternoon’s VBS would be held with the kids from the community involving singing, games and crafts. We all had a great time and We are so thankful for this experience. Their faith and our faith grew stronger. It reset our perspectives on what matters in this world and what our mission to our community here and beyond is. Thank you all for your prayers, support and kind words. We had a wonderful time helping our brothers in sisters in Honduras and we know we will see them again one day.
