Better Together

The Lone Ranger and Tonto, Dean and Jerry, Batman and Robin, Charlie and Snoopy. What do all these names have in common? As I am sure you’ve already guessed, they’re better together. How funny is the funny man without the straight man? Not nearly as funny as he is when accompanied by his stoic friend. How many bad guys can the gunslinger take out on his own? Not nearly as many as he can with the bow of his faithful sidekick.

Church, I am excited to announce the official launch of the Together Initiative. The Together Initiative is an exciting opportunity to increase our church’s capacity to demonstrate the presence of Christ and proclaim the message of his Gospel throughout New England by joining in partnership with the Evangelical Free Church of America.

The Evangelical Free Church of America is an association of autonomous churches united around ten common theological convictions and committed to “multiplying transformational churches among all people.” The association is comprised of 180,000 attendees in 1,300 member churches nationwide. The New England District is comprised of 9,000 attendees in 61 churches and includes notable figures such as Walter Kaiser Jr. (Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary), D. A. Carson (Trinity International University), and Chuck Swindoll (Dallas Theological Seminary).

By joining together with 189,000 attendees and 1,361 churches, we will…
